Important Club Update on positive COVID-19 test
As you may be aware, we were notified of 1 cricket playing member testing positive for COVID 19 over the course of this week (w.c. 31.08.20).
Following the guidelines of Staffordshire Cricket and Public Health it was necessary to inform those present at the Club / matches before making this formal statement.
Following an emergency zoom meeting and discussions with Staffs Cricket we have decided as a Club to voluntarily withdraw from all cricketing activities for a week or so. Therefore, we will not be fulfilling our league fixtures this weekend (5 th Sept).
This was quite a simple decision to make by our Club. As much as we all love playing cricket this is much bigger than that and the health and safety of our members, staff and the wider community must take precedence, along with attempting to contain any possible outbreak. The withdrawal from cricket will apply to senior and junior cricket and the nets are closed.
At present no further cases have arisen, and a large number of cricketers are in isolation either by personal choice or following contact from Track and Trace. The potentially affected areas have been given an extra deep clean along with our high standard cleaning regime continuing in all areas. This has been approved by Public Health as a reason for us to continue to open for social purposes. The situation will be under constant review, like everyone we hope this is an isolated case and we wish our member a speedy recovery.
Please remember any symptoms please do not enter the Club premises, get tested!
STAY SAFE EVERYONE
