Centenary Challenge to all Players, Members, Friends and Associates of FORDHOUSES CRICKET CLUB
The Club’s Mission Statement encapsulates what we stand for as a community-based sports and social voluntary organisation. The text provides clarity about being aspirational, sustainable, inclusive and forward-thinking.
Partnership working and a Centenary legacy are key themes.
Most of you will be aware that 2027 holds a special significance – it’s our Centenary year and we aim to celebrate this important landmark throughout the calendar year.
From the humble beginnings of a rented field near Springfield Cottage to the extensive facilities at Wobaston Road, things have certainly changed over the 100 years!
Yes – the exciting news is that we are in the advanced planning stage to hold a ‘marquee’ event in May next year. This occasion will involve some famous sporting celebrities – watch this space for more information, including other programmed celebrations.
However, at the same time, we would invite all players, members, friends and associates, not only to support those planned events, but to help, stage, fundraise, sponsor, etc their own centenary activities. This should involve our ‘in-house’ sports and social Sections, affiliated groups etc.
All ideas are welcome to mark 100 years of our beloved FCC
Let’s all make a collective effort to mark 2027 as a special year in the memory book
Your active participation and support to create our centenary legacy will be greatly appreciated!
