Purpose of Fordhouses Cricket Club's Mission Statement
In order to provide all members, friends, associates and sponsors of the Cricket Club with an insight into what we stand for, a new Mission Statement has been produced. It outlines our future aims and aspirations and acknowledges that in the very near future we will celebrate an historical landmark – 2027 is our centenary year! As a result, we want to give some focus and attention to ‘where we are going’ and ‘how we can achieve these aims’, especially with individual and collective help. We would welcome your interest and support in helping to achieve these goals.
Mission Statement - 2026 Onwards
Fordhouses Cricket Club, formed in April 1927, has played a significant role in the ‘life and times’ of the North Wolverhampton communities. Although the Club has gone through stages of substantial change, from St Mary’s Church, Bushbury, Taunton Avenue to the extensive fields of Wobaston Road, it still continues to embrace the ‘ethos of community’. We pride ourselves in fostering a family-based atmosphere, where lifelong friendships and memories are created.

Sustainability
We will manage a sustainable ‘not for profit’ community-based Sports and Social Club. The sustainability factor can only be achieved by adhering to a robust business plan, supported by a collective management team effort and a committed membership.

We are committed to continuous improvement of our facilities, equipment, and grounds, while developing new amenities and partnerships, including enhanced changing areas, expanded social spaces, and improved practice facilities.
Equal Opportunities
We are an inclusive club, open to all regardless of background or ability. Membership and fees are fair and non‑discriminatory, with costs kept affordable to support participation for everyone.
Communications
We will enhance our marketing and commercial growth capacity to secure more facility usage and generate increased revenue – via membership recruitment, events, functions, wakes, corporate bookings, and sponsorship. A vibrant, regularly updated WEBSITE has become an essential tool in any successful operation, and offers the advantages of improved exposure and better business opportunities

Our ladies' teams play in tournaments and, new for 2026 have joined league cricket.

Other Sports / Memberships
Maximising use of our extensive facilities is a key target, and we are committed to increasing participation and usage levels across all sports and social activities. This work embraces the needs of our affiliated sports groups (athletics, hockey, cycling) plus supporting our own ‘in-house’ sections – crown green bowls, snooker, darts,
dominoes and junior football. The Club will also continue to act as a ‘community hub’ not only for the FCC membership but for a host of local voluntary groups.
Links & Partnerships
We will revisit the challenge of fostering better links and developing positive working partnerships with a wide range of Wolverhampton based private, statutory, and voluntary agencies. This work will form a key part of our business/sponsorship strategy, and partners will include the i54 Business Park, Wobaston and Stafford Road industries and importantly our landlord Wolverhampton City Council. The Club will explore the formation of a business club linking local businesses and partners, to benefit all.
Legacy / Centenary Year

We remain committed to continually improving the quality and presentation of the Jack Threlfall Memorial Ground. As we approach our 2027 centenary year, we will plan, secure funding for, and deliver a range of legacy capital projects, landscaping initiatives, events, and special activities. Members and friends of FCC are encouraged to get involved and will be kept regularly informed of progress and proposals via the website.
We are currently in the planning stages for our centenary celebrations. A series of events will bring together members of all ages, alongside opportunities to welcome cricketing legends to support
