Welcome to our new Management duo

Colin and Janine (Jan) Thompson took over the management ‘reins’ at the Cricket Club on 1st January 2017. Colin and Jan have three kids – Keady, Abbie and Russell – but amongst FCC circles, will be best known as the supportive parents of club stalwart, Russell Thompson, who started developing his talents in the junior teams and was 1st XI / Club Captain for six years (2008-13).

Colin and Jan have already gained some experience in their new roles, acting as the relief management team while Neil Turner took annual leave at his Spanish retreat! In addition, Colin is a well-known character in the immediate neighbourhood, having attended Northicote school and spent his working career at Hobsons / Lucas / UTC.

Colin’s outstanding contribution to Wolverhampton and Bilston Athletic Club cannot be understated. The fortunes of this once internationally acclaimed organisation have been revitalised by his leadership as Chairman. He strongly believes in the importance of community sport, nurturing and developing coaches / team leaders and encourages participation at all levels from enthusiastic youngsters to elite performers, which is perfectly aligned with the purpose and ethos of FCC.

Jan has spent most of her working life within the NHS as a medical secretary at New Cross. She is equally committed to making FCC the most successful sports and community facility in the City.

We are very fortunate to have them both leading our staff team and this provides exciting possibilities and real scope for future improvement. I have every faith that all members, friends, sponsors and staff will give them their full support in order to achieve that objective.

Peter Jones, Chairman
